Chicory And Benefit

Chicory is a fiber-rich vegetables with high water content and contain antioxidants that can prevent cancer. Because fiber-rich, chicory can be launched defecating and inhibit tumor growth. Chicory is a good choice of food to his diet because of low calorie (25 kcal per 100 grams) and also because they contain many vitamins and minerals (potassium, calcium, manganese, iron, zinc, fostor, boron, nitrates, beta-carotene, vitamin C, E, K, B1, B2, B6, folic acid and nicotinamide).

Chicory grows only in the highlands. This crop is harvested while still in the vegetative stage (not flowering). Part that is harvested a whole part of the body located on the ground surface. Chicory called because it's leaves that tend to pale yellow-white leaves and stems. Chicory can be used to pickle (preserved in liquid sugar and salt), in capcay, or in clear soup. Chicory-flavored distinctive but neutral.
